  • My child is little. How will the teacher be able to pay attention to him effectively?
Under level 4, we only have 2 kids in a class. We want our teachers to maximize safety and teaching time. We use 2 flutter boards like an airplane to help teach kids how to swim. The teachers are all very competent and comfortable so it is not a problem. Your child will be supervised continuously.
  • What is the difference between Aqua Essence Swim Academy and other swimming programs?
There are many differences, but the most important ones are our small class sizes which enable a high degree of individual attention; our instructors can’t be topped; and our trademarked “Ready, Set, Swim” approach keeps us all focused on skill development.
  • Which programs do you teach?
We are authorized providers of the Canadian Red Cross program and Lifesaving Society programs. We also deliver triathlon training and an outstanding baby swim program.
  • When will my child get a sticker or badge?
We teach our students from where they are at. The teacher will work with your child to give them the confidence and skills they need to improve. With every improvement, their teacher will keep encouraging them so that they can move forward. Throughout a full year of swimming, we give out 2–4 written reports. (Parent and Child classes will only receive report cards in December and March; adults do receive report cards.)

  • Do we do make up classes?
We do not do make up classes. Our teachers don’t all teach every day, and so the logistics of make-up classes are prohibitive. Additionally, lessons are non-transferable.
